Heroes

Heroes are the main source of DPS (damage per second) in Dungeon Crusher. These are the game's characters, that can be hired in several ways (e.g. in-game coins, heroes shards, promo-codes). Heroes automatically deal damage (except for first hero — player itself, who only upgrades base click damage). Currently, there are X Heroes in the game.

Leveling Heroes

The player can level a hero up by clicking the "Upgrade" button next to the hero's name after hiring it. There is also special button, that allows to level-up hero 1, 10, 25, 100 times, Next, or Max. "Next" will level the hero to the next ability unlock, which after Lv200 is Lv1000 (or level cap, if lower). "Max" will level the hero as much as possible, given the gold availalble. Leveling up a hero increases the amount of DPS it does. Leveling up a hero will also increase the cost of the next level up by 7%. This will result in a near doubling of cost for every 10 levels.

Level Bonuses

Almost every hero (the 4 exceptions: the player's avatar, Grimbolts, Theolduin, & Soul Totem) gets a 4x damage multiplier every 25 levels from level 200 upwards, and a 10x multiplier every 1000 levels. This makes the earlier heroes viable in the late game, but the cap means that later heroes will ultimately get the player further.

DPS Bonuses

There are some heroes that give you a multiplicative global DPS bonus. The final multiplier from all the original heroes (up to Dakkot) is ~XXX.

Gilded Heroes

Gilded Heroes receive a stackable +50% damage bonus each time they receive a gild. This bonus can be improved with the Amulet of power artifact. A detailed view of the Gilded Heroes can be accessed by clicking on the "Grade" button at the bottom of the Hero list.

Hero Stars

Heroes gain stars by completing sets of equipment, applied not piecemeal, but all at once. Each star increases the hero's DPS by 1000 times, and adds 20% to the base stats used in League and Sieges.
