Elemental damage allow you to deal damage with your DPS to uncommon monsters and bosses. The only type of those bosses are Frost-type creatures and Fire-type thralls (encountered on level 666 and every 1000 levels thereafter, e.g. 1666, 2666, 3666, 4666).
You can find Frost-type creatures in the Caves of Khadur and in the main mode (after level 31). Without appropriate Elemental Damage you will be not able to complete levels without clicking.
